VALUERS GET WITH THE TIME

Well-known Valuation industry identity, Ron Gedeon of RPG Valuers, has launched a technology solution tailored at the valuation industry, to take the manual day-to-day operations that have been in existence since the industry started, to the fingertips of Valuers.

The innovation, Pocket Valuer, allows Valuers to record, send and receive data remotely via GPRS.

“The Valuation industry has been a slow adopter of technology and has relied heavily on manual processes that are ruining the valuation industry,” said Managing Director of Pocket Valuer, Ron Gedeon.

“If Valuers don’t adopt technology and streamline processes, they won’t be able to afford to stay in business.

“Costs of labour, travel and administration is continually going up, and something has to give.”

Pocket Valuer is a mobile device which has been developed with assistance of software architects J3 Technology and is based on a Microsoft Windows platform.

The custom-built Remote Asset Valuation System (RAVS) loads onto a PDA, laptop or tablet PC running Windows Mobile 5 with GPRS and Bluetooth technologies, eliminating the need for paper trails and allowing for Valuers to be on the road, rather than in their office drafting valuation documentation. They are able to record, photograph and process as they go.

“The ability to sketch a plan and place directly onto the PDA, is a significant advancement for Valuers.

“This solution will save money, time and improve accuracy as it allows the Valuer to work in real-time.”
